Join fellow Region I ASSP attendees for an optional guided mountain bike ride through the iconic Phil’s Trailhead trail system – offering miles of scenic high desert singletrack just outside Bend.
Ride Overview:
-
- Date: Friday, April 17th
- Time: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (approximately 3 – 4 hours)
- Distance: ~30 miles
- Terrain: High desert singletrack outside Bend
- Elevation: Approximately 3,600 – 4,000 feet
- Weather: Ride will proceed only in favorable weather conditions (i.e., no rain, no snow, snow-free and relatively mud-free trails)
- A final go/no-go decision will be made 24-48 hours in advance
Rider Expectations:
This ride is recommended for intermediate or higher-level riders who are comfortable with sustained aerobic activity and longer rides on singletrack terrain. The group will maintain a steady but manageable pace, with planned regrouping at key junctions (i.e., no-drop ride). Participants should be in good physical condition and free from medical conditions that would limit safe participation at elevation.
Bike Rentals & Meeting Location:
Participants will meet at Pine Mountain Sports to pick up rented bikes, helmets, and any additional gear prior to the ride. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the shop.
Anticipated rental costs (participant responsibility)
- ~$40 – Basic mountain bike
- Up to ~$80 – Carbon full-suspension mountain bike
Following registration close, Kyle DeHart (Ride Leader) will reach out directly to coordinate bike rentals and timing with Pine Mountain Sports. Rental requests will need to be finalized by March 31, 2026.
